The Leutert Surface Sampling Bench SSB is used to take reservoir samples from the test separator during production testing of oil and gas wells. Samples of the separated fluids are taken simultaneously. The oil is collected in a piston type sample cylinder while the gas may be collected in one of the Leutert gas sample cylinders. In the laboratory, oil and gas are recombined for further analysis. The SSB is suitable for carrying one piston type oil sample cylinder and one or two Leutert gas cylinders.
A representative surface sample can be taken only, if the well conditions are stable during sampling. Unfortunately, small changes may occur within short periods of time. These changes may affect the equilibrium in the separator and, therefore, affect the composition of sampled fluids. The chance for changes appears to rise with the time it takes to take the required samples. Using the Leutert Surface Sampling Bench ensures that the samples may be taken in an extended period of time. Within this time, changes in the equilibrium are averaged and representative samples may be taken.
