The Leutert Liquid Condensation Trap LCT is used to precipitate liquids that may have be carried over during separator gas sampling or flash of one phase fluids.
When a reservoir fluid is flashed (volume is increased and pressure drops) in a PVT laboratory, gas will be liberated. A mist of liquids may be carried over hidden in the gas phase. This situation may also occur during separator well testing. Gas samples taken from the separator may contain liquid.
The Leutert Liquid Condensation Trap (LCT) is used to precipitate those liquids e.g. condensate. Therefore the liquid condensation trap may be installed in the flowline between the Equilibrium Flash Separator, the Pycnometer Flash Skit (GOR apparatus) or a PVT Cell and the Gasometer. The misty cloud is led through of a rapid cooling device that does not require any cooling liquid. The decrease in temperature forces liquids to drop out. All liquids will be collected in a graduated glass cylinder and may undergo further analysis.
